See what’s going on at Harvest Church!
Maundy Thursday Service: 4/14 @ 6:30
Why is it called Maundy Thursday?
The word “maundy” is the shortened form of “maundatum (Latin),” which means “command.” On the Thursday before Jesus was arrested, crucified, and resurrected He and the disciples shared the Last Supper. During that time together Jesus washed the disciple’s feet and gave them the commandment in John 13:34, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Jesus also instituted what is called communion or the Last Supper. In taking communion believers remember what Jesus did for them on the Cross and in the Resurrection.
